DRIVERS EDUCATION ONLINE
Full Form To Enroll Course
New drivers must complete an MVA-approved Driver’s Education Course, consisting of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) training.
The minimum age to enroll is 15 years and 9 months.
Requirements for Online Classes
To attend online sessions, each student must have:
A computer or laptop
A webcam
Internet access
30 Hours of Classroom Instruction
All students must begin with Unit 1.
Students must attend every class, participate in lessons, and complete all units, quizzes, and the final exam.
The final exam is only given after completing the full course and must be passed with a minimum score of 80%.
If a student misses a class, they must make up the specific missed session — not just the hours.
Any student missing more than 12 hours must restart the entire course.
6 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Instruction
Students must have passed the knowledge test and received a Learner’s Permit before beginning BTW sessions.
Arriving without a valid Learner’s Permit or License, or being impaired (due to lack of sleep, intoxication, medication, etc.), will result in the lesson being canceled and marked as a no-show, incurring a $40 fee.
Improper footwear that affects driving safety is not allowed.
If the instructor determines a student needs more practice, they may recommend additional practice sessions before continuing BTW lessons.
Failed BTW lessons can be retaken for an additional fee.
Any lessons beyond the required 6 hours are extra practice and subject to additional charges.
To cancel or reschedule a driving session, notice must be given at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the $40 fee.
If a student misses a session, they must contact the office manager within 24 hours to reschedule.
Please be patient — if your instructor is slightly late, they may be finishing another student’s test.
If they haven’t arrived within 15 minutes, call the office at (301) 434-0036.
Each 2-hour session includes a 5-minute break for review and discussion.
Each student is scheduled for three (3) 2-hour BTW sessions (total 6 hours).
BTW sessions are typically completed after the third classroom session and must be finished within 18 weeks from the first day of class (extensions may be requested).
All lessons begin at the school location — no pick-up or drop-off services are provided.
Completion & Certification
Students who successfully complete both parts of the program — Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel — will receive a Letter of Completion.
Please allow up to 3 business days for electronic certificate processing and submission to the MVA.

Students who withdraw before completing the program are eligible for a pro-rated refund as follows:
Withdraw before start: 100% of fees refunded.
